Order of the Phoenix out on 21st July 2003!

Author J.K Rowling has announced that the 5th book will be in shops on 21st July 2003. Whopeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Well, the moment die hard fans have been waiting for! Dadada!!!

This is the UK version. Instead J K Rowling and her editor at Bloomsbury, Emma Matthewson, came up with the idea and then told the artist the kind of image they wanted them to create.

The Adult's version in the UK. The adult cover, designed by Bloomsbury's Design director William Webb, is from a photograph by Michael Wildsmith and again shows a phoenix.

This is the US cover! It shows an intense portrait of 15-year-old Harry holding his wand in front of a series of doors. It is drawn in tones of midnight blue, indigo and flame blue and was illustrated by Mary GrandPre.

The contents of the book are so secret that even the artist, illustrator Jason Cockcroft, wasn't allowed to read it before drawing the cover!

Baby Rowling- 24th March 03 Cookie -x-

JK Rowling has given birth to a baby boy!! The Potter author gave birth on Sunday afternoon in an Edinburgh hospital, but news of the birth only came out on Monday night.

And the baby's name? It's David Gordon Rowling Murray - very Scottish!

The proud mother and baby are "doing well", said JK's spokesperson.

The much-loved Potter author and her son were allowed home to rest.

It means a little baby brother for Jessica, who's nine.

JK - who's already started work on Potter book six - is set for a big year with the new baby as well as her long-awaited Order of the Phoenix, due out on 21 June.

And we bet David will get the best bed-time stories ever !


Signed OOTP raises magic money for charity - 28th March03

A signed copy of the Order of the Phoenix has already raised over £5,000 for charity in an online auction - before it's even published!

The much-anticipated fifth book doesn't come out until 21 June.

But JK Rowling promised a charity for deaf and blind people - Sense - a signed copy of the work which they could auction now.

The bidding on eBay started at just £1 on day one of the auction.

Three days later, the amount had shot up like a nimbus 2000 to £2,800!

The final amount of £5,000 was way beyond what the charity expected to get.

Sense works to help deaf and blind people by giving them lots of information and advice.
