Incredible things you probably didn't know about

Harry was born on 31st July 1985. This means that, in the Aztec calendar, his birthday falls on Six Serpent. Serpent-parselmouth?

Is Hermione a witchy name? Well, authors seem to think so! In the popular "The Worst Witch" series by Jill Murphy the founder of St Cackles Academy was a certain Miss Hermione Cackle.

Robbie Coltrane's eight year old son, Spencer appears in the Harry Potter Movie! Spencer is a major Harry Potter fan and went to see his father and the sets while they were filming the movie. Robbie Coltrane asked the director if Spencer could have a walk-on part as an extra. He is in a scene where he is looking through a shop window (presumably in Diagon Alley) and, according to his father, loved getting dressed up in the wizard costumes!

The Chris Columbus' (the (ex) director) 11 year old daughter, Eleanor also had a part in the movie as the Hufflepuff Susan Bones!

When the scene where the pupils are ferried across the lake in boats before being sorted a boat with 4 children in it filled up with water! The boat included Eleanor and Devon Murray (Seamus Finnegan) and Emma Watson! A couple of the actors  managed to jump to the other side of the boat but the others fell out!

The lake they were filming on was not dug for the movie, so gallons of dye had been used to turn it blue for filming. Sounds like a good reason not to want to fall in to me! (I bet costume weren't happy!!!)

Is Rupert Grint the real Ron? Well, he has a family of seven, all with red hair. On the other hand, he's the oldest sibling of the bunch (something Ron can only dream of!).
